EXPLONEER is a New York metropolitan area based, environmental non-profit organization focusing on Nature/Environment preservation. We are currently
recruiting summer interns as we expand throughout the United States. Please read the Job Description carefully and write the area of your interest in your
application. We will focus on helping out many other 
Nature/Environment non-profit organizations during the Summer 2024 High School Internship. 

 

Job Description

 

This is a remote/hybrid High School Internship role at Exploneer Inc. As a High School Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and learn about the various aspects of non-profit organization. You will be assigned to different projects and tasks to support our team and contribute to our mission. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience, exposure to the industry, and the chance to develop your skills and knowledge. Qualified candidates will receive volunteer hour certificates from Exploneer Inc, affiliated non-profit organizations, or affiliated for-profit organizations, depending on the projects and contributions. To our surprise, there are many good environmental non-profit organizations around us but not all of them know how to grow their projects and target audience. We will be working with many different organizations, and this will enrich your experiences over the summer. Interns with satisfactory performance evaluation result will be offered Fall Internship opportunity.

 

The interns will be non-paid team members but will be provided with an official internship verification letter upon request. However, small number of qualified interns will
be offered the opportunity to work for for-profit projects which will offer minimum $15 per hour upon candidate’s demonstration of relevant skills and qualifications. 

 

1. Marketing Team:

  • Responsibilities: Manage websites, social media channels, content creation, branding, and promotion of activities and events.
  • Skills Needed: Digital marketing, social media management, content creation, SEO, and branding.

2. Fundraising Team:

  • Responsibilities: Develop and implement fundraising strategies, grant writing, donor management, and organizing fundraising events.
  • Skills Needed: Fundraising strategy, grant writing, donor relations, event planning, and financial management.

3. Program Development Team:

  • Responsibilities: Design and oversee the implementation of programs and initiatives, collaborate with Nature Centers, and ensure the programs meet the needs of
    the communities served.
  • Skills Needed: Program design, project management, community outreach, environmental education, and evaluation.

4. Information Technology Team:

  • Responsibilities: Create basic tools and apps, manage database, and utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications.
  • Skills Needed: GIS application, Python, Java, etc.

5. Volunteer & Intern Management Team:

  • Responsibilities: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers/interns, develop volunteer/intern programs, and ensure crews are effectively integrated
    into various projects.
  • Skills Needed: People management, recruitment, training and development, and coordination skills.

  

Qualifications & Nice to have:

  • Currently enrolled in a high school program
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

[Marketing]

  • Computer and design skills such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

[Fundraising]

  • Experience of fundraising platforms such as GoFundMe

[Information Technology]

  • Computer and design skills

[Volunteer & Intern Management]

  • Strong people skills
